Can a nurse practitioner do history and physicals on new nursing home patients and residential care facility patients?

Other answer:

Yes, if the NP is a employee of the facility.

For starters, and I work in a nursing home, they are residents, not patients.

Absolutely yes.
Diane A:
Yes they can, but does the nursing home have a contract with them-that is up to the home; but it is within their scope of practice.
