Hey all. My husband is in the process of legally immigrating to America.

I m from America and we got married in March 2016. We are both 21 and I am still covered on my moms great plan until I am 26 and I work only part time so I am not offered insurance through my job.

I looked into insurance through Mass Health (we live in Massachusetts) but the monthly payments were crazy. Just wondering what other companies were out there and what else I should be searching for.

I have honestly no clue about any of this! He works full time but insurance isn t offered through his job. Any advice would be super appreciated! We are clueless. Thanks in advance.

If you want "lower than Massachusetts" rates, you'll have to move out of Massachusetts.

I'd suggest your idea of how much health insurance should cost, probably isn't very realistic.

StephenWeinstein:
You should be searching only for things with crazy monthly payments. If the monthly payments seem reasonable, that means it's a scam, or it's not available in the U.S., because if it was available in the U.S. and it wasn't a scam, then the monthly payments would be crazy.

If you want insurance that doesn't have crazy monthly payments, then the U.S. is not the place to live. Go live in your husband's country. Because if he comes here, then it will be necessary to pay crazy amounts for insurance.

coraann:
Since you married, you may no longer be covered on your mother's policy.
Read the policy. It is the law to have health insurance.

I don't think you'll legally suppose to still be on your parent health insurance f you're married and your husband is working. your parent can get in trouble for fraud or u in college? if not you're not able to still be on your mother plan
