I created this necktie out of unconventional materials a while back. Several people had complimented me on it so I thought it would be a good idea to make several of them. I got in contact with a 3d printing company that assisted me in 3d modeling and altering my neck piece to make it look more professional. They then 3d printed the piece. It was pretty expensive for just that one piece of plastic. A total of 300 dollars. For most people 3d printing is used as a means for prototyping so in that context of the word I like to see this print as a prototype. My question is how do I go about producing several of them at a much more reasonable price? I just don't see people wanting to spend 300 dollars on a piece of plastic. I can't cast the piece because it's too intricate. 3d printing was my only choice by far to get a more lightweight, detailed, and durable product. Are there any companies in china that can do this for much less? A toy company perhaps? Thank you for your time and interest in reading and answering my question.

The Chinese are still the 'go to' nation for cheaply produced manufactured goods, but I would recommend Mexico instead. There is a growing, inexpensive factory manufacturing industry there, and shipping your finished products to you will be far less expensive than from China. A little research should reveal good manufacturing possibilities in Mexico.

I don't understand the issue.
The $300 was because the design had to be created.
Now, you know what is needed, and you simply click the button to re-do what you did. That can't cost very much.

But let's say someone whats to charge you a pretty penny for it.
You can go but your own 3D printer for $300 and viola, you can make many for a low cost.

forget about all of the casting, 3D and other things that are a waste of time and $$………..since the ties need to be made from fabric, I don't know why you would have even bothered with a 3D version….makes no sense……….you need to contact some companies in China to produce them BUT !!!!! it will be very expensive and the company will not make only a few ties; maybe a few 1000…………..you need to do more research
Ziff Spiffington:
you contact manufacturers in Asia
