I'd say have at least 15-20 thousand because it's at that age that you might wanna get married as your relationship strengthens, you might want to finally own your house(invest in real estate) or maybe you want to get a new car but do not want to pay the hefty fees that the bank charges you. It depends on how much you make and what amount of that goes towards paying bills every week.

the amount depends upon your situation but if you are regularly saving at least 10% of your paycheck you are good.
