If a credit card gets closed by my bank, would I be required to pay off the balance in full immediately or still in payments?

For example a bank closing a credit card because a consumer has a high balance

Other answer:

Ask your bank. If you are in a credit card bind the best thing you can do is communicate with them and work something out. Then stick to what is agreed to.

They cut off new charges and continue adding interest. Non-payment affects credit rating and goes to collections.
yes you're required to make monthly payments still but shouldn't have to pay it off immediately
You'd be able to pay it off on the normal schedule.
