If amazon delivery puts a package in my mailbox ,can the post office take it, and make you pay postage ok it to?

Other answer:

Nobody except the post office should put anything in your mailbox. It is possible that something bought through Amazon, but sold and shipped by others, might use some sort of economy shipping where UPS or FedEx may hand it off to the post office for final delivery, but that would already be paid for.
Yes. If the sender failed to put enough postage on it, then if you want the package, you have to pay for the amount of postage not on the package. Get a receipt and ask the sender to reimburse you.
