IF, you don't want your parents to know, you have only 1 option and that is to pay cash, and do NOT use your insurance.

It does not matter where they send bills, but what the provider/hospital bills to the insurance company. Since you are under parents insurance, then they sent to your parents insurance, and either mom/dad who is the listed policyholder gets an EOB.

The EOB, will list that on such and such date, that (you) went to see Dr X or a hospital, and that they charged your parents insurance such and such amount and your insurance paid.

So, even thought insurance paid, your parents will see that you went/saw "someone" on such and such date, and could ask you why?

Honey, either pay cash, or go to planned parenthood, which charges on a sliding scale of "what" you can pay, but under no circumstances "pull"out your insurance card.

Why not ask baby daddy to pay for this.

Doug Freyburger:
If you submit on someone's insurance they get an itemized statement. That's how it works.

You either have to pay cash and not grow up (bad idea) or grow up and get over hiding this from your parents (good idea).

I know it's personal. That's what parents are for. I get that they might be bad parents and not be sympathetic. I get that they might refuse treatment if they know in advance – When they get the statement the procedure will already be over.

OMG__YOUR PARENTS WILL KNOW IF IT IS BILLED TO INSURANCE..insurance sends statements saying what was paid out…or they may just look it up online….who did you ask that told you otherwise?

There is a possibility they only get them electronically, and never check…but don't count on that.

even when I had my own insurance and still lived at my parents house i rent a mailbox at a UPS store so i wouldn't risk them finding out anything.

If the insurance covers any of it, then they will have to send your parents an explanation of benefits which will tell them that you used the insurance. The only way to avoid this is to pay for everything using only your own money, without using the insurance.
Anant:
your parents will definitely come to know about these transaction. don't risk.

Your parents WILL know if it's under their insurance. They have access to all claims history. Forget what "the lady on the phone" told you.

Your parents will receive an explanation of benefits when it pays.

Depends if you have a co pay or your deductible has not been met.
