Postman damaged my delivery?

The other day the postman from a courier delivery service, put a 1kg "fragile" labelled parcel (an internal HDD) through the letterbox and it hit the floor about 4 ft below
Now I have not yet opened the parcel, because I am not sure what I should do?, could be obviously damaged or it may not be so

Now I have not yet opened the parcel, because I am not sure what I should do?, could be obviously damaged or it may not be so obvious, ie it still ((for the moment )) functions normally) also I felt I received good value on the item so not sure I want a refund, and also not sure whether i would be entitled to a replacement at the same price p&p?

Advice?

cheers
Not sure which catagory of those available this would fall under?

Best Answer:

Hombre Sin Nombre AKA Oggmeista: It is the seller's responsibility to ensure that you receive the item as described. That means not broken. Open the package. If it's broken, contact the seller and go from there.

Drama queen. You don't even know if it's damaged.

You can't do anything unless and until you verify actual damage/breakage.

How absolutely ridiculous to have not opened it and ask the question on here.
OPEN IT AND SEE
