If you are the person who is in charge of making certain that all employees come and go on time-if you are the person who collects the time cards and records the time for the payroll department or the Human Resources Department, then it is your job to make certain that employees follow the rules.

If you are just one of the employees, and your job is not in HR, Payroll, administration and has nothing to do with managing other employees, then you will not only be considered out of line, your co workers, whom you are trying to make obey company rules without authority to do so, well, your co -workers will hate you, complain to management that you are handling their time slips (which, by the way can get you fired in some places…looking at/touching/handling another's pay slip)

You will probably create a lot of problems for yourself.

Not to mention that the person whose job it really is, will become upset and will probably try to have you fired

Buy a time clock and use it.

Personally, I would write to EVERYONE, rather than target certain employees.

Something all the lines of…

All

I have noticed that not everyone is recording their arrival / leaving times in the register. It is important that everyone does so. So can you please ensure that in future that you record your times when signing in / out

Ali

Send your notice to all employees who are required to use the register unless you want to specifically document who is not following policy.

"Please remember that you are required to always record your time in and time out on the register, as well as your signature."

tro:
are you responsible for accounting for their time, then take the register with you and face them one on one and tell them they are not complying with the rules, any further infractions will incur penalties

If you are their manager or supervisor, definitely bring it to their attention. If you are not their manager or supervisor, mind your own business.
