Should it worry me that my job is scheduling me fewer shift hours?

I am part-time in retail as a cashier, so I generally work 4-5 days a week for 6.5-8 hours on average. From what it looks like on my next two schedules, I'm still working the same amount of days each week, except the shift hours are shorter, only 4-5.5 hours each day.

Should I be concerned about this? Or is

Should I be concerned about this? Or is it just because Christmas has passed, and there's less demand for longer hours?

Hmm…They might be finding another employee, full-time or part-time? I'm sure it isn't that though, you would've probably realized it . Regardless if you are not happy with this and you are curious. Just ask your manager, I'm pretty sure whoever it is. They will know the answer. Don't be nervous or shy to ask. It might also be because before and after Christmas, businesses are slow. Therefore they don't need that many employees working and longer shifts. Good luck! -Unknown
