I am 19 turning 20 in a few months and applying to a bachelor's at a college. I'm weighing the options for a program in another city (Toronto) because it's a better course but I just don't have the money. I had some bad stuff happen in the last while (got my bank account frauded) and I started a new job but with car payments and everything I just make enough to cover everything and I was behind on bill payments by a month for a while. My parents make around 80,000 combined. I'd hope to have some saved up by the time I go but is there some way I can get living expenses supplemented?

J.Z. Sherrington: If you can live at home and go to school that is generally the best option so you don't rack up too much debt. Depending on the program that you are going into though look around and see where it could possibly be less. I know a woman who moved to Newfoundland to finish her school because cost of living was much lower there and she could live off of her student loans easier. Given that you are looking at going to one of the most expensive cities of our fair country it would be really tough to keep costs down when it comes to housing. You really need to sit and look around and do the math. You don't want to weight yourself down with a bunch of debt off the get go. I think there's a calculator on the CRA website that will tell you how much you could qualify for loans with your parents income.
