What can I do about health ins. co. putting me on the wrong plan I got through agent?

I signed up for a plan that would be somewhat less expensive, & did it over the phone with the insurance company with my agent also on the phone. Now this morning I see on my bank statement on the computer the company went ahead & put me on the wrong plan, and of course it's now costing me MORE MONEY.

I rarely go to the Dr. but each time I do there is always, it never fails, some sort of mistake & it always is in the insurance companies favor. Even when I went for my one preventive care visit that's supposed to not cost anything I received a bill. I had to spend more of my time calling to explain I am entitled to my one preventive care visit, so they removed the charge. Now I will have to spend more of my time trying to get onto the plan I signed up for with my agent as the witness. Should I call the agent over this, the insurance company has a recording going where someone has to put in all this info first before transferring you to someone. After I put in the information a recording came on saying they don't open until 8:00. It would be nice to just have the recording they aren't open yet so someone doesn't waste more time putting in the info. They have no hours listed on their card, and they used to be open answering calls at 6:30 AM.

Will I be able to get the plan I signed up for with my agent, or am I now stuck with paying for the more expensive plan I didn't want. I hate insurance companies, they are greedy & no good.
If every single time I have something done, which is not very often, a so called MISTAKE is made ALWAYS in the favor of the insurance company this doesn't make me a cynic. it makes me realist from the years I've had to deal with health insurance companies. They are liars and very greedy. I have to take time

lucy: You start with the agent, since this was a 3 way call with the insurance company, you and your agent. Usually most companies will have all conversations recorded, so they can go back and listen to the recording.

Your agent, "may" have a direct phone number and/or person to contact to call vs the general number that you are put on hold. Your agent should handle this, since he/she is paid a commission for handling this transaction and all payments in this company. Granted, the commission is less with the new ACA, but the reason for an agent is to get information/guidance vs dealing with it yourself.

Those recordings are for "training purposes only…" meaning they wont let you listen to the call. That's a waste of time.

What you should do is go back and look at what you signed, then tell them you were placed in the wrong plan with evidence of the same.

tatilendi:
Agents are usually recorded so to protect you and the company, no misunderstanding. I suggest you call and ask to speak to a manager, tell them what you and the agent spoke about and to review the recording. They have to prove you wrong and they will change the plan if they can't produce the recording.

Um…just because a mistake was made doesn't mean they're greedy. You used an agent, why not start by contacting the agent and see what they advise?

Somebody made a mistake. It's an imperfect world.

You may want to try a different agent, or an entirely different health insurance provider.

I've never had such issues with UHC.

A Hunch:
Didn't you get an email confirmation?
What does it say?

Also, the insurance company didn't make a mistake with your "one" preventative care visit. The doctors office didn't bill it as a preventative visit.

Texperson:
Call your agent.
